No Meat Treat at Pepper Lunch!
Revisiting an old friend is such a nice experience, a little catch up that can turn into hours of non-stop conversions, reliving the old times. Recently, I came back to one of my loved restos in the Metro - Pepper Lunch.
It was a few months ago when I last ate at this lovely restaurant located inside one of the busiest malls in the Ortigas area. The ambiance are still the same, the smell of sizzling meat, that peppery taste and the lovely staff who always greets guests with a big smile.

If you don't know what Pepper Lunch is, here is a short background about the restaurant;
Pepper Lunch (ペッパーランチ Peppaa-ranchi) is a "fast-steak" restaurant concept that originated in Japan in 1994. It was created by Japanese chef and inventor, Mr. Kunio Ichinose who wanted to serve quality, fast food without the need to train a chef for years.
At Pepper Lunch diners get to cook their own food over a patented electromagnetic plate that is heated up to 260 degrees Celsius within one minute. Choice cuts of beef, chicken, pork and salmon are served with rice and vegetables for guests to cook and season using flavors of teriyaki, onion sauce, honey brown sauce (Amakuchi) or garlic soy sauce (Karakuchi)—and that dash of freshly ground pepper to give you that delicious, flavor-filled meal.
Now there are over 200 Pepper Lunch outlets in Japan and all over Asia, including South Korea, China, Taiwan, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand and the Philippines.
As far as I can remember it was Beef Pepper Rice that I ordered on my last visit a few months back, since then I always crave for that Peppery taste and going back was such a joy to my taste buds.
A few weeks ago when I returned to Pepper Lunch for a quick dinner, it was my Mom's birthday and a nice sizzling dinner definitely made my mom happy. Going back a few days back before our dinner at Pepper Lunch, We've all won a nice meal from Pepper Lunch Philippines on Facebook (PS: Thanks again Pepper Lunch! Woot!) and we've decided to use our prize that day.
Pepper Lunch offered new dishes perfect for those following the tradition of no meat dishes during the Lenten season or for those who are just craving for no meat but still delicious ride meals.

We've got to try some of Pepper Lunch's Fish meals that evening, Me and my brother got Pepper Lunch's Teriyaki Bangus Fillet (349php), thick slices of Bangus or Milk fish meat with veggies and steamed rice. It tastes really delightful especially with the Teriyaki sauce poured all over it, An instant No-meat favorite!

The birthday celebrant - my mom, got Teriyaki Bangus Pepper Rice (225php), Same Pepper rice taste but with a unique twist because of the Bangus meat! Definitely a great alternative to meat especially during the Lenten season. :)
After filling our tummy with these yummy seafood treat from Pepper Lunch, I ordered one of their treats to beat the summer heat! Pepper Lunch's Coolers - Available in two flavors, Red Grape and Lychee Coolers (78php). I got myself one Red Grape Cooler and it's definitely very delicious! A great way to end a nice no-meat dinner. :)
